Thirty-Four Distribution Changes for the Week of 04/07/22

Ten Increases, Twenty-four Decreases

You may have noticed a change to the fund cuts stats above the 'Weekly Distribution Change Announcement' table. Instead of listing the percentage of cuts 'CEF Mastery' has, I changed it to the percentage of cuts 'CEF Mastery' has avoided. Showing '98.34% of cuts avoided' looks a lot sexier than 'only 1.66%' of all distribution cuts.

Energy Funds, once again, lead the way with distribution increases. Energy funds CEM, CTR, EMO, KMF, and KYN all had double digit percentage increases over their previous quarters. Remember, MLP/Energy fund payouts are euphoric in good times but gut-wrenchingly devastating when the party is over. I am not encouraging or discouraging you on investing in these types of funds, just beware the pitfalls.

For the decreases, two of the twenty-four decreases were 'CEF Mastery' qualified funds. DDF is a 'Managed Distribution' fund and changes their monthly distribution constantly. DDF reduced their distribution by $.001, or -1.78%.

The other fund is NAC, a California, state tax exempt, municipal 'Income Only' fund which reduced its distribution by $.003, or -5.50%. It was their first distribution cut in over a year. I just added this fund to 'CEF Mastery' about a month ago.

New Changes to the 'CEF Mastery' 'Fund Stats' Page

Effective 04/09/22, you will notice a couple changes in your weekly 'CEF Mastery Super Screener' report on the 'Fund Stats' page.

I added trend lines for Assets and Liabilities to the 'Balance Sheet' history chart.
A very big change, I have added a score history chart to the 'Fund Stats' page. With this chart, you will be able to compare a funds 'Score' and 'Final Score' history in relation to a funds 'estimated monthly distributions remaining' history. I suspect that over time, this chart will be a great indicator of a fund's momentum, providing clearer guidance on future distribution cuts and possible increases.

I'll be posting a video on YouTube explaining these changes soon but I'm sure they'll be pretty self-explanatory when you see them.
